Telepathy and Vampires, What More Do You Want?

One of the most attractive TV series that has taken people like storm in recent years is True Blood. Based on Charlaine Harris’s novel series, the story tells how Vampires are able to come out of hiding and become part of mainstream society.

The story begins with Sookie Stackhouse, a Southern waitress who has the ability to read minds, meets a Vampire Bill Compton in the fictional town of Bon Temps and saves his life. For the first time she realizes that there is someone whose mind she cannot read and this perks her interest so much that she falls in love with him.

The uniqueness of this series can be felt with a certain twist in the story. The Vampires don’t need to hunt humans, they can drink the synthetic blood called “True Blood” to quench their thirst and be part of mainstream society. This splits the human race into those who are willing to accept them and those who vehemently oppose their inclusion. This leads to a war being fought in the background where humans try to drain Vampire blood and sell it in the market for use as a drug and Vampires fight back for vengeance or simply for sport.

This series is one of a kind and certainly a break from the old mindset people have about Vampire related fantasy.
