Does the Iron Man DVD worth to Buy?
Less Than Zero (1987): Bret Easton Ellis’ popular novel about burnt-out youths was adapted into this cult hit about a young man (Andrew McCarthy) who returns home from college to find his best friend (Robert Downey Jr.) in the throes of a massive drug addiction that soon consumes his life. The film received some renewed popularity in the 1990s when Downey’s real-life drug problems led to a series of arrests and eventual imprisonment. Thankfully, Downey hasn’t followed his character’s path and has stayed clean for several years, and is currently starring in the upcoming film version of the comic “Iron Man.”
Marvel’s “Iron Man,” starring Robert Downey Jr. was the fifth most successful comic book box office hit, bringing in $318,223,785. You could tell having seen Iron Man and having seen Batman, that the writers and producers and directors now know how to treat these movies. Now, these movies will become highly profitable with the launch of iron man dvds, and the insentive re-sell of that license on other medias around.
Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark, often channeling most of his own well-publicized inner demons into the character. Beyond the origins story, most of Tony’s life is fairly accurate to the comic books, ranging from the shadow of his wealthy industrialist father Howard Stark (the movie even places Howard at the Manhattan Project) to the tragic death of his parents.
